Head On hosted by the ACP, is Australia’s most critically acclaimed photographic portrait competition, reflecting a vibrant diverse cross-section of new and traditional photographic practices. In 2010 Head On has grown to become the Head On Photo Festival, encompassing exhibitions and events in venues around Sydney. 

Head On includes the work of forty finalists, competing for prizes worth approximately $40,000. The festival attracts a wide range of excellent photography that speaks for itself rather than the celebrity of the photographer or subject.
