This course runs over two Saturdays
The Photography of Things is a new course testing the boundaries of still life photography. Tutor Simone Rosenbauer challenges students to experiment with object-centred photography by developing your own visual language.
Through demonstrations and photo-shoots participants will be introduced to working with typologies, vanitas and in situ. Utilising both artificial and available light, this course builds on participants existing knowledge of light to playfully explore approaches to photographing unique and mundane objects.
Lectures will introduce participants to a variety of historical and contemporary images to help illustrate a variety of approaches, compositions and styles. The first class you'll be given a practical task, the results of which will be reviewed in the following class.
