Ideas & The Mobile Screen

This course runs at the same time each week over three weeks

Explore photography's relationship to smart phone photography, surveillance, digital superabundance and digital culture in this new course designed to question our dependence on data and technology, and their role in monitoring and manipulating our behaviour.

Over three weeks experienced photographer and ACP tutor, Michael Waite will introduce participants to these ideas, along with photographers and artists working with the photographic medium to investigate data, tracking and online identity.

Participants will discover how our mobile devices monitor and record behaviours, whilst creating images exploring copyright, GPS and digital zoom and other themes that have emerged in recent years. In the first class students will be set an assignment related to these ideas, to be presented and discussed in the final class.

Bring ideas and your mobile phone to uncover 'who’s watching who' in this creative and informative course.
