Description

In 2008 Canon introduced the 5D Mark II changing the landscape of photography with its added video component. Originally designed to be used by photojournalists reporting on the news, the video function presented photographers and filmmakers with new creative possibilities.

Today, DSLR short films have received Oscar nominations, with major films and TV shows utilising the DSLR's incredible low light capabilities but the process is not as simple as just pressing the record button.

This course is designed to provide participants with the basics of shooting and editing video. Over five-weeks experienced photographer and videographer Hugh Hamilton will introduce participants to the video functions of a DSLR, its advantages and its limitations. Each week participants will be introduced to a new aspect of working with video, including shooting techniques, audio and editing to produce a short video work.

This course is for photographers eager to learn the basics of shooting and editing video.
