Join us for the opening of Barbara McGrady: Always Will Be.

This important exhibition breaks new ground in its capacity to represent photography’s mutability as a medium in its ability to express the subjective voice of the photographer.

Barbara McGrady is a Gamilaroi Murri yinah (woman), Sydney based-photographer from the north west of NSW and Southern Queensland, who has been documenting contemporary Aboriginal history since the 1970s. Her works include the iconic images of world champion Aboriginal boxer Anthony "Choc" Mundine, the Koori Knockout Carnival (one of the biggest Indigenous gatherings in Australia) and the Sista Girls of Mardi Gras.

The exhibition is guest-curated by Sandy Edwards as part of the ACP’s Carte Blanche Program.

Gary Foley is a Gumbainggir activist, academic, writer and actor and professor of history at the Moondani Balluk Indigenous Unit. He is best known for his involvement with the Tent Embassy and establishing the Aboriginal legal and community health centres in Redfern in the 70s.

Limited space. RSVP for Launch Event is essential.
