17.03.18 Workshop: Beastly Selfies with Gerwyn DaviesGerwyn Davies
This special workshop with artist Gerwyn Davies explores the role fashion plays in the construction and reading of identity and stereotypes. Embracing a ‘tackier the better’ attitude, participants will connect with their inner dag to playfully reveal the fashionista inside us all.
Using props, costumes and materials sourced from discounts stores, Gerwyn will challenge participants to experiment with studio-based self-portraiture to develop new notions of the self, both collective and as an individual. Through demonstrations and photo-shoots participants will be introduced to Gerwyn’s practice and a variety of approaches and techniques to portraiture.
Please note: This workshop is not a costume-making workshop. Participants will be required to bring existing materials, props and clothing, which can be complimented by material provided by the ACP.
This workshop is inspired by our latest exhibition Fur on display in our Project Space Gallery from the 15 February to 24 March 2018.
