Join the ACP for our Teacher Professional Development program – Photo Insight.

Each year the ACP initiates a dialogue between an Australian and an international artist. In 2019, two First Nations artists James Tylor (AUS) and Meryl McMaster (CAN) will exhibit.

Share and learn ideas and practical classroom strategies that connect the work of visual artist James Tylor from ACP exhibition In Dialogue with the NSW and National curriculums – Visual Arts and English.

Over morning tea, teacher's will have the opportunity to meet and discuss the work of visual artist James Tylor. Led by ACP curator Allison Holland this Professional Development is a rare opportunity to hear directly from James about his process and practice, and his work featured in In Dialogue. Tylor will discuss national identity and his multi-cultural heritage in his art practice.

Following this discussion, teacher's will be invited to work with an ACP photo-educator, to develop activities for the classroom.

This professional development session is endorsed by the NSW Education Standards Authority.

Completing Photo Insight will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 2.1.2, 3.3.2, 6.2.2 and 6.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
