Tracey Moffatt is an internationally renowned Australian artist who works primarily in photography and moving image. Born in Brisbane in 1960, she holds a degree in Visual Communications from the Queensland College of Art, graduating in 1982. Her works are held in the collections of the Tate, Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, National Gallery of Australia, and Art Gallery of New South Wales. Influenced by classic cinema and romantic novels, Moffatt's fictional and semi-narrative photographic series invite the viewer to bring their own experiences to the images and take their own meaning from them. She strives in her work to tell 'every man's' story, representing people of all backgrounds, ages and demographics.
