Since the early 1980s Photofile has been a thought-leader in contemporary photography in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Photofile, Australia’s oldest photography magazine returns in Feb 2017 under the editorship of Daniel Boetker-Smith.
Daniel is the Course Director at Photography Studies College (Melbourne) and regularly writes for a number of international photo publications and is also the Director of the Asia-Pacific Photobook Archive, a not-for-profit organisation established in 2013 to promote the work photographers from the Asia-Pacific region at festivals, galleries, and institutions all over the world.
The return of Photofile magazine heralds a new direction for the publication, placing photography in Australia amongst photographic practices internationally, and expanding our distribution to increase the visibility of contemporary Australian photography overseas.
Issue 98: Under the sun features ACP’s major exhibition ‘Under the sun: Reimagining Max Dupain’s Sunbaker’ alongside a diverse line-up of interviews, profiles, tech updates and contributors, in addition to photobook reviews by an illustrious panel of today’s leaders in the production, publishing and presentation of photography.
Photofile is a reference point for an international readership, with up-to-date content on current practices, ideas and technology.
