Photo of the Week - 21.08.15
By Belinda Hungerford
Spring has practically sprung so it is most appropriate to feature a beautiful bloom this week.
Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976) was one of America’s most significant female photographers. She studied chemistry at the University of Washington purely to aid her ambition to become a photographer. Her graduating chemistry thesis was titled ‘Modern Processes of Photography’. This luminous magnolia blossom is a wonderful example of the floral images she became known for.
