7 Wentworth Selborne Award returns for Photostart 2018

We're pleased to announce the return of the $2000 non-aquisitive 7 Wentworth Selborne Award* for the photograph that exemplifies both originality and technical ability in our annual Photostart exhibition.

Opening on Thursday 13 December at 6pm, Photostart is the ACP's annual celebration of our talented student community.  A vibrant and diverse exhibition, Photostart comprises works produced by our students as part of our 2018 workshop program.

Our winning image from 2017 (shown above) was produced by Photojournalism student Edoardo Capriotti.  His photograph of a cafe in Sydney's CBD echoes the work of Eugene Atget, the French flâneur and pioneer of documentary photography who captured the lives of Parisians in the 19th Century.  Concerned with the returned gaze of his subjects, the choreography of composition and the reflection of light Capriotti's winning image attests to his technical and artistic photographic abilities.

We would like to thank 7 Wentworth Selborne for their continued support of the ACP and our community of emerging photographers.
